BPS Group carried out the mechanical and plumbing services for 126 mixed-tenure homes for the Cruden Homes’ Rowanbank Gardens project in Edinburgh.
Rowanbank Gardens has been designed around a new resident’s courtyard garden. This is a new sustainable project in Edinburgh that meets the needs of the cities growing population.
Within the 126 newly built mixed-tenure residences, there’s a notable emphasis on family-friendly living, featuring adaptable open-plan spaces, private gardens, and spacious balconies overlooking the courtyard. The development project has been designed with a comprehensive focus on environmental, economic, and social sustainability principles.
The design implements cutting-edge all-electric methods, utilising enhanced building materials, heat recovery systems, and photovoltaic technology to minimise energy usage and surpass current regulatory standards for carbon dioxide emissions.
This project marks Scotland’s pioneering use of internal Electric Air Source Heat Pumps, effectively reducing heat loss during distribution and offering superior embodied carbon performance compared to comparable district heat network solutions.
The 1-year contract amounting to £2,263,000 demonstrated our commitment to sustainability with all services utilising “Earth Saving Products”. The project is currently shortlisted for a RICS Residential Development award.
