Brief: This project for Places for People is for the creation of 196 flats, new masonic club and GYM at a new development in the port of Leith Edinburgh. The project comprises of 196 new flats, covered over 3 multi story blocks along with a new Masonic club, GYM and underground Car park, each property being served by a District Heating system working back to a centralized Plant Room.
Project Overview: This project started in November 2017 and is scheduled to be handed over in phases starting with Masonic club and GYM being complete for the end August 2018 with the remainder of the blocks end of 2018.
Tasks: BPS Group are undertaking all Mechanical Engineering works within the site, from installation of Heat Interface Units (HIU’s) within each flat, Underground Pre-Insulated Distribution pipework from our centralized plantroom which includes CHP’s, Boilers, Pumps, Vacuum degassers as well as all the LTHW flow & Return pipework which distributes throughout the underground car park to serve each block and 2 further plantrooms within the Masonic club & GYM which include their own heat Interface units and Air Handling Units as well as the necessary distribution ductwork, grilles, dampers, fire dampers and insulation to deliver conditioned air to all spaces. Heating and Plumbing riser pipework installations which branch off to serve each flat. BPS Group are providing the complete solution for our client on this prestigious project.
