BPS Burns Society held their 20th Anniversary Burns Supper (with a twist) at Carrigans in Blantyre. Over 150 members and their guests enjoyed a full programme of entertainment while raising money for the BPS Charity Burns Society.
After the fine meal Jonathan Oliver the Society Chairman along with 20yr long standing members presented 2 donation cheques, 1 to St Aidans Shining Stars for £5000 and another to Crosshouse Kids Zone for £1000. Both worthy causes which cater for children with special needs.
The evening was as usual a twist on a traditional Burns Supper with the first half of the evening having artists performing a few best known recitals, Tam O’Shanter and Holy Willie’s Prayer before moving into the second half which takes the form of a Speaker night with two the the best on the circuit having the audience in tears of laughter.
After the Charity Auction the total sum raised on the evening was £13,200.00 a great achievement from all who attended.
